Otodiva.id – On Wednesday, 27 November 2024, PT SGMW Motor Indonesia (Wuling) celebrating production milestones 160.000 vehicle units from the Wuling Cikarang factory and the debut of Cloud EV exports to the ASEAN market. This shows Wuling's commitment to supporting the development of the Indonesian automotive industry, especially in the new energy vehicle sector. Since operating in Indonesia seven years ago, Wuling continues to strengthen its position in the domestic market and becomes a key player in the electric car segment.
The event was attended by a number of important figures, including officials from the Chinese and Indonesian governments, as well as the management of Wuling Indonesia. They expressed their appreciation for this achievement which shows close cooperation between the two countries in supporting the expansion of the automotive industry, especially in the field of vehicle electrification and digitalization.
Mr. Lv Juncheng, President Director of SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile Co., Ltd., convey that achievement 160.000 This unit is part of SGMW's global efforts to expand international markets. Wuling is also committed to accelerating the development of electric vehicles in Indonesia, building a new energy industry ecosystem, and ensure that Indonesian consumers can enjoy the benefits of environmentally friendly vehicles.
Since the operation of the Wuling factory in Indonesia in July 2017, Wuling has produced various vehicle models, starting from conventional engine vehicles (like Confero, Cortez, does not take, Alvez), Almaz Hybrid hybrid vehicle, to electric vehicles (like Air ev, Binguo EV, Cloud EV). Besides that, they also produce commercial vehicles such as the Formo and Formo Max, with technology and competitive prices.
Wuling also makes a major contribution to the Indonesian automotive industry by building high-quality manufacturing, integrated supply chain, as well as a network of more than 150 dealers and finance companies. Besides that, Wuling involves local workers in its operations, which also drives Indonesia's economic growth.
Wuling's commitment to sustainability is reflected in efforts to build a comprehensive electric vehicle ecosystem. Apart from producing electric vehicles, they are also developing supporting infrastructure such as charging stations and working with local industry players to strengthen supply chains and provide training for the workforce.
Wuling Indonesia also plans to become a production center for right-hand drive vehicles for ASEAN and international markets. This strategy is expected to meet the needs of consumers in the ASEAN region and countries with right-hand drive systems, strengthening Wuling's position in the Indonesian automotive market, as well as supporting the expansion of electricity-based products.
