Global tire manufacturer Hankook Tire is expanding its partnership as an official tire supplier for electric vehicles, as recently for Volkswagen's e-SUV, VW ID.4. To meet driving qualifications, The ID.4 will be equipped with Ventus S1 evo tires 3 ev developed specifically for electric vehicles.
Tire size 18-21 inch of the series is equipped in part with Hankook SEALGUARD® Puncture Protection technology. Besides that, ID.4 twin car, The VW ID.4 GTX is also equipped with Hankook-sized tires 20 and 21 inci, supporting characteristics sustainable (sustainable) as ID, sporty like the GTI, and comfortable as an SUV.

Reduced scrolling resistance, lighter weight, and higher load-bearing capacity are important characteristics of electric car tires to be able to support battery performance and vehicle mileage, as well as supporting the weight of electric cars which tend to be heavier.
In order to meet these needs, Hankook technicians included a Ventus S1 evo EV tire 3 ev with a two-layer carcass specially made from high-performance fiber. This technology provides high stability with a low tare weight in accordance with its size.
Another important part is the tread compound (tread compound) from Ventus S1 evo 3 EV which has extraordinary grip in dry and wet road conditions. The compound has been adapted for the high turnover requirements of electric vehicles, and able to optimize capabilities rolling resistance.
For sized tires 20 inci, additional supports made of steel are also used in the section bead due to the reduced height of the side walls, this then helps increase the stiffness of the tire sidewall. Besides that, Rims that fit well to the tires also ensure direct steering response sporty.
Sealing technology (sealing) Hankook SEALGUARD® is also found on Hankook tire sizes 19-, 20- and 21-inch for the VW ID.4 which can automatically close leaks up to 5mm in the tire tread.
SEALGUARD technology offers advantages when least expected. Like when there is a nail prick, the journey can continue without problems and the driver does not need to change the tires. Therefore, spare tires do not need to be carried on vehicles that use SEALGUARD technology.
This can provide a quiet room, reduce the burden, and eliminates the need to change vehicle wheels on dangerous roadsides.
