As news has circulated that the government is close to implementing PPkm levels 3 throughout Indonesia which is planned to be implemented in 24 December arrives 2 January 2021. The government has prepared a number of travel regulations, starting from implementing an odd-even system on toll roads, tourist areas and others. This rule was made by the government to suppress the spread of the Covid-19 virus in Indonesia by reducing crowds and community mobility during the Christmas and New Year holidays.. However, As a result of the cancellation of these plans, it is currently unknown whether the travel regulations will still apply or not.
even so, Polda Metro Jaya stated that it would continue to implement the Car Free Night scheme (CFN). DKI Jakarta decided to implement PPKM level 3 on the Christmas New Year holiday.
“(CFN) Keep going,” said Police Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yogo, Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya, quoted from NTMC Polri, 7 December 2021.
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has made a decision regarding the plan to implement CFN and will implement PPKM Level 3 during 10 the day before the end of the year on date 24 December 2021 until 2 January 2022. This decision is contained in the Decree of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Number 1430 Year 2021 Regarding the Implementation of Level Community Activity Restrictions 3 COVID-19 which follows up on the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 62 Year 2021 regarding the Prevention and Management of COVID-19 at Christmas and New Year 2022.
There are several locations that will implement a crowd free night system. Some of these locations include the Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin section and tourist attractions, like Ragunan, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), etc. Besides that, CFN is also implemented in places prone to crowds at various points in the Jakarta area, such as the Kota Tua area.
"We will make the city of Jakarta quiet and not allow crowds on New Year's Eve," said Police Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yogo, Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya.
As for implementation time, CFN will start at 24.00 until 04.00 WIB. However, especially for New Year's Eve, CFN will start earlier, namely at 19.00 WIB.
"However, on New Year's Eve we will apply it earlier starting from the clock 7 night until midnight 4 morning,added Sambodo.
