PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) close the year 2021 with a brilliant export record. As much 392.829 The motorbike unit was successfully delivered in Completely Build Up form(CBU) abroad all last year. This number is increasing 36,1% compared to CBU's export achievements last year 2020 which amounts to 288.543 unit.
Based on data from the Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI), throughout January-December 2021 Motorcycle manufacturers who are members of AISI have succeeded in exporting as many motorbikes in CBU form 803.931 unit.
This number is increasing 14,8% compared with CBU export figures in the same period of year 2020 which amounts to 700.392 unit. With export figures of CBU 392,829 units, AHM contributed as much 49% to AISI's total exports. This contribution increased compared to year 2020 recorded 35,9%.
Based on product segmentation that AHM sends to the global market, The scooter segment is the largest contributor to AHM's total exports with a contribution reaching 92%. It was recorded as much 363.000 units were exported last year with the largest contributor being the Honda Vario model 125 and Honda Vario 150 with total exports of 299.616 unit. Besides that, Honda PCX production model 160 which was only launched at the beginning of last year is also popular with global consumers with total exports reaching 29.840 unit.
Honda's sports motorbike segment also contributed quite significantly with total exports of 28.326 units all year round 2021, increased by 117% when compared with exports of sport motorbike models in 2018 2020. The Honda CRF150 and CBR150 are the models most in demand by the global public with total orders reaching 25.552 unit. Meanwhile in the duck segment, AHM exports as much 1.503 units in the last year.
General Manager Overseas Business Division AHM Kurniawati Slamet said AHM has a strong commitment to make Indonesia proud by increasing the contribution of motorbike exports. Various efforts continue to be made by the company to send products assembled by the nation's children abroad by expanding export destination countries and also increasing volume through additional models of Honda motorbikes being exported..
Apart from exporting motorbikes in intact form (CBU), AHM also sends motorbikes disassembled or Completely Knock Down(CKD). Last year Honda's CKD export performance also grew significantly with total exports achieved 489.140 set or increase by 26% compared to year 2020 which amounts to 387.660 set. AHM's export destination countries, both CBU and CKD, include the Philippines, Bangladesh, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Japan, Cambodia, to Brazil.
