A few years ago, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars creates its smallest model, but carefully crafted to gain worldwide recognition. A Bespoke electric model called The Rolls-Royce SRH, the car was built for St Richard's Hospital in Chichester, English, in which he performed a very important role.
Like young patients in pediatric surgical units using it to drive themselves to theater when the time comes for their surgery, rather than walking or being pushed on a trolley. This simple but clever idea turns what would otherwise be a worrying and intimidating moment into a truly memorable and fun experience for kids, their parents and staff.
Since this car started operating in 2017, this car has brought no less than 2.000 brave young people in true Rolls-Royce comfort and style. But like it or not, its unique working conditions the brand is not aware of any other Rolls-Royce that is routinely driven along the corridors by unlicensed children in a state of nervousness and has damaged its beautiful Bespoke bodywork and paint.
Therefore, the car was towed back to the Home of Rolls-Royce for its first 100,000m service, which is carried out with love by specialists from the Bespoke Team and other technical and craft departments, to return it to its original condition.
David Clayton-Evans, Head of Charity for Love Your Hospital, a special charity for St Richard's Hospice, Worthing, and Southlands, say, “A huge thank you once again to the incredible team at Rolls-Royce for this incredible support to St Richard's Hospital. This very special car continues to bring joy, smile, and positive hospital experiences for young people and their families.”
After its service and repair, The car has now returned to the Hospital to continue its simple but transformational task.
Rolls-Royce itself designed and built the Bespoke bodyshell in fiberglass reinforced with carbon fiber, complete with the iconic Pantheon grill. The hood strips are the 'original' pieces’ The two-tone finish is applied exactly as on the full-size commission, with wheel covers, chair, and the coachline are all perfectly color matched.
The chairs are handcrafted from wood, with medical grade vinyl covered padding, heat welded to eliminate seams that can trap dirt. The team also designed special aluminum leg holes that can be lifted for cleaning.
“In design, material, and manufacturing, it really is a miniature Rolls-Royce. It's been through four years and 2.000 traveling through its challenging work environment relatively unscathed is a testament to the care and attention to detail that went into its construction. We are pleased to provide continued support for this unique car, and this is a very special owner and driver,” Close Andre Ball, Head of Corporate Relations, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.
