OTODIVA – Hyundai Motor Group (HMG) just announced that the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS) has given the total 16 tribute to Hyundai Motor Company models, Kia Corporation, and Genesis. In the IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK event 2024 (TSP) and TSP+, they managed to achieve a greater number of awards than any other car manufacturer in the annual assessment.
Hyundai Motor Group's extraordinary achievements (HMG) in the IIHS event 2024 demonstrating the company's strong commitment to safety. By grabbing 10 TSP awards and six TSP+ awards, Hyundai Motor Group, consisting of Hyundai Motor, Come on, and Genesis, leads in number of TSP/TSP+ awards. This confirms HMG's commitment as a safety pioneer, which continues to strive to provide the best protection for passengers and other road users.

Within the range of Hyundai Motor Group brands, Hyundai Motor and Genesis ranked second overall. Hyundai Motor won seven awards (two TSP+ and five TSP), while Genesis won seven awards (three TSP+ and four TSP), and Kia won two awards (one TSP+ and one TSP). This recognition emphasizes the exceptional safety standards held by Hyundai vehicles, Come on, and Genesis.
For Hyundai Motor, the TSP+ award was awarded to KONA small SUV and IONIQ 6 midsize electric car. Meanwhile, the TSP award was given to the ELANTRA small car, IONIQ 5 dan TUCSON small SUV, PALISADE midsize SUV, and SANTA CRUZ small pickup truck.
Then for Genesis, TSP+ award winners include the Electrified G80 large luxury car, GV60 small SUV dan GV80 midsize luxury SUV (models created after August 2023). Meanwhile, TSP award winners include the G80 and G90 large luxury cars, serta Electrified midsize luxury SUV GV70 and GV70 (made after November 2023). Then for Kia, the TSP+ award was given to the TELLURIDE midsize SUV and the TSP was won by the SPORTAGE small SUV.
To meet IIHS TSP requirements, the vehicle must get a good rating in the small overlap front test, original moderate overlap front dan updated side. Meanwhile, the requirements for awards are higher, TSP+, a vehicle must get a good rating in the small overlap front test, updated side tests, and obtained an acceptable rating for the updated moderate front crash test. Both awards, TSP/TSP+, the vehicle must also receive an acceptable or good rating for pedestrian front crash prevention and be equipped with headlights rated as good equipped on all trim levels. On TSP/TSP+ awards 2024, The IIHS has raised its standards, challenges automakers to increase protection for rear seat passengers and improve pedestrian accident prevention systems. Updated moderate front overlap test updated by IIHS, which now includes a second dummy positioned behind the driver, focuses on rear seat safety and has replaced the previous evaluation in the TSP+ requirements 2024.
