Otodiva.id – PT Krama Yudha Tiga Berlian Motors (KTB), distributor of commercial vehicles Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MTFBC) in Indonesia, updating the medium duty truck variant (MDT) Fighter-X mule October 2024. This refresh aims to strengthen Fighter-X's position in the increasingly growing MDT market.
Although MDT sales had declined at first 2024, since May 2024, the market is starting to show improvement. Data per September 2024 recorded an increase in MDT's market share of 3% since July, and Fighter-X sales rose 26% during July-September 2024. The government is also providing stimulus which is expected to help increase market absorption of Fighter-X.
Minor changes to the Fighter-X include the grill and front bumper design which are now black, gives a tougher and more dashing appearance. This refresh is based on input from loyal Mitsubishi Fuso consumers who want a more modern appearance.
Aji Jaya, Sales and Marketing Director KTB, stated that truck sales currently need a positive boost. The government's reduction in interest rates provides a signal of optimism for businesses, and Mitsubishi Fuso responded by presenting products that meet consumer expectations, one of them is through refreshing Fighter-X.
Mitsubishi Fuso continues to be committed to meeting the needs of the MDT market by offering 20 vehicle variants. One of its strategic efforts is to enter the mining segment through the Fighter-X FN62F HD R Mining Equipment, specifically designed for mining conditions.
This special mining variant is equipped with features suitable for use in mining areas, shows Mitsubishi Fuso's seriousness in targeting markets that need tough vehicles. With projected growth in the mining sector at the end of the third quarter, This variant is expected to meet the industry's needs.
This move to update the Fighter-X is part of Mitsubishi Fuso's strategy to maintain competitiveness in the MDT market, especially in the midst of market conditions that are starting to show recovery. The company hopes that this innovation can increase consumer confidence in their products.
