Gojek that supports sustainable urban mobility, today announced a strategic partnership to accelerate the adoption of electric two-wheeled vehicles in Indonesia. This strategic collaboration brings together two of Asia's most innovative technology companies focused on sustainability and committed to ushering in a new era of transportation modes in urban areas.

Gojek Partnership (GoTo Group company) and Gogoro currently cover two main areas of cooperation. First, GoTo Group investment in Gogoro through a scheme Private Investment in Public Equity (PIPE), second, Gojek collaboration, Gogoro, and Pertamina through a battery pilot scheme swap and trial of the Gogoro Smartscooter vehicle in Jakarta.

Based in Jakarta, Gojek and Gogoro trials will feature 250 Gogoro Smartscooter and four battery stations swap GoStation which will be located at Pertamina gas stations. Together, both companies plan to scale up trials to 5.000 two-wheeled electric vehicles and feature more battery stations swap.

Gogoro has become a global leader in innovation compact electric propulsion, battery design, battery swap, and service advanced cloud that leverages artificial intelligence to manage battery availability and safety. The core of the Gogoro ecosystem is the Gogoro Network (Gogoro Network), battery platform swap which is highly efficient and recognized by Guidehouse Insights as a battery company swap leading for light vehicles (lightweight) cities in the world. With more than 400.000 rider and 2.100 battery station swap, Gogoro network has served 270.000 battery swap daily with more than 250 million total batteries swap to date.

Apart from Gogoro Network, in the year of 2015 Gogoro also launched the Gogoro Smartscooter, award winning world's first smart two-wheeled electric vehicle. In the year of 2019, Gogoro Network developed the Powered by Gogoro Network Program (PBGN) which provides access to Gogoro's vehicle manufacturer partners to innovations owned by Gogoro including intelegence drivetrain and the controller, components and smart systems, so they can develop and launch unique electric vehicles integrated with the Gogoro battery network swap.

Gojek and Gogoro trials are also in line with the goals sustainability Gojek and its ongoing efforts to reduce its carbon footprint. In April this year, Gojek launches Sustainability Report First, who also explained Gojek's target to achieve Zero Emissions in 2018 2030, including transition plans 100% its two-wheeled fleet to electric vehicles.

As part of this plan, Gojek is actively looking for ways to develop a comprehensive electric vehicle ecosystem, by utilizing technology to overcome barriers to usage faced by driver partners and ensure consumers obtain an optimal experience.

"The partnership between Gojek and Gogoro brings together two companies with the same vision and thoughts for the adoption of electric vehicles as the preferred mode of transportation in Indonesia. This ambition can only be achieved through the collaboration of various stakeholders. Therefore, partnerships like this are very important, if we want to realize our goal of reorganizing transportation modes in the city,” said Kevin Aluwi, Co-Founder and CEO of Gojek.
