For the first time in the world, Honda introduced the Honda SUV RS Concept at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2021 which will be held from the date 11 – 21 November 2021 di Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD, Tangerang. The Honda SUV RS Concept is designed as a compact SUV that combines a sportier character, enjoyable driving performance and sophisticated technology.
The Honda SUV RS Concept also marks the first time Honda in Indonesia has displayed the RS variant of an SUV model. The RS logo is applied by Honda to its product variants which have a sportier character. At the moment, some Honda models in Indonesia that have an RS variant are the Honda Brio, Honda Mobilio, Honda City Hatchback and All New Honda Civic.
Takehiro Watanabe, President Director of PT Honda Prospect Motor said that currently the SUV segment is growing in Indonesia and consumers like the sportier character of cars to suit various activities and road conditions..
Concept car developed as a collaboration between Honda R&D Asia Pacific Co., Ltd. and the Honda team in Indonesia displays a sporty exterior design in accordance with Honda's DNA in a compact SUV car platform. From the exterior side, The Honda SUV RS Concept appears with a slim body, sharp and sturdy lines, and a grille that blends with the body which further strengthens the sporty character.
The Honda SUV RS Concept is one of the main displays appearing at the Honda booth at this year's GIIAS event. Carrying the theme "Amplifying Joy,” Honda booth displays various products, the latest technology and activities. The Amplifying Joy theme illustrates Honda's commitment to continuing to bring joy to consumers in Indonesia through various leading products and technology.
Selain Honda SUV RS Concept, Honda's booth also displays as many 24 car with a large area 2.394 m2, including the latest All New Honda BR-V model which was launched virtually last September. For the first time, Consumers can see directly various variants of the All New Honda BR-V at this motor show.
