Otodiva.id – Bluebird committed to reducing carbon emissions and operational waste by 50% in the year of 2030, as stated in the Sustainability Vision 50: 30. To achieve this vision, Bluebird implements various initiatives across three main pillars: BlueSky, BlueLife, and BlueCorps. BlueSky is committed to the environment, BlueLife is a commitment to social welfare, and BlueCorps is a commitment to good corporate governance.
Even though it was launched in 2022, but Bluebird has been running sustainability initiatives long before that. President Director of PT Bluebird Tbk, Adrianto Djokosoetono, said “Since it was founded in 1972, Bluebird has been concerned about the environment and social life. This value is the basis for us launching the Sustainability Vision 50:30 two years ago. We have carried out many programs and activities to support the achievement of this vision. Bluebird has recorded positive achievements in improving the environment, increasing social welfare, and corporate governance.”
For BlueSky pillar, to date Bluebird has operated more than 200 electric taxi fleet, 3.200 armada CNG, and using solar panels as a clean energy alternative. The result, during the year 2023 the use of electric fleets has succeeded in reducing up to 2.600 tons of carbon emissions, CNG fleet reduces to 24.800 tons of carbon emissions, and solar panels reduce it by as much as 48,3 tons of carbon emissions. Besides that, Bluebird also implements the 3R program (reduce, reuse, recycle) where drivers and employees are required to use refillable drinking bottles with a projected reduction in single-use plastic waste of up to 1 million tons during the year 2023.
Meanwhile for the BlueLife pillar, Bluebird has helped increase access to education by providing scholarships to more than 38.000 child drivers achieve and empower more than 1.000 the driver's wife and daughter through the Kartini Bluebird program which offers cooking classes, sewing, and make up with the aim of providing additional capabilities to help the welfare of the family. Besides that, Bluebird also continues to increase the ratio of female drivers to employees by more than 500 people, as well as collaborating with local taxi entrepreneurs in Bandung and Yogyakarta by operating more than 100 fleet so that it can rise and continue to grow.
Meanwhile for the BlueCorps pillar, in addition to implementing good corporate governance through transparency and accountability, Bluebird also always improves the quality of workshop management until it obtains class A certification. Bluebird's commitment has received public recognition through awards received from various trusted organizations. In year 2023, Bluebird won many awards such as the company with the best business transformation, companies that develop and implement the use of electric vehicles, as well as companies that have digital ecosystems and innovation.
