Otodiva – To maintain the smooth flow of traffic during prestigious racing events MotoGP Mandalika 2024, West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Government (NTB) through the Transportation Service, it has issued a policy limiting vehicle operations around Special Economic Zones (KEK) Mandalika. This policy was implemented to prevent serious traffic jams that could disrupt the continuity of this big event.
Based on Circular Letter Number 500.II/1159/DISHUB/II, This restriction will be in effect for three days, namely from the date 27 until 29 September 2024. During this period, only certain vehicles are allowed to enter the area. According to the Head of the NTB Transportation Service, Then Moh Faozal, This restriction aims to keep traffic in Mandalika safe, fluent, and orderly, especially when thousands of spectators are expected to flock to the area.
Vehicles Permitted to Enter Mandalika SEZ
Not all vehicles are prohibited from entering the Mandalika area. Exceptions are given to several types of vehicles with certain conditions. One of them is a vehicle belonging to the Mandalika MotoGP spectators 2024 who already have an official ticket and sticker from the committee. Spectators who want to watch the race live can enter the Mandalika area by showing this proof at the entrance.
Besides that, Vehicles driven by workers or employees at the Mandalika SEZ are also allowed to enter, as long as they can show a valid ID Card. This ensures that business activities within the Mandalika area are not disrupted by the restrictions implemented.
For residents who live in the Mandalika area, they are still allowed to use private vehicles as long as they can prove their residency by showing their KTP, SIM, or other valid identity.
Not only that, Emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire trucks are also still given full access to enter the Mandalika area. This step is taken to ensure that emergency situations or accidents can be handled immediately without any obstacles in the way.
For goods transportation and logistics, the rules applied are slightly different. They are only allowed to operate through the Mandalika SEZ at night, starting at exactly 22.00 until 05.00 Wita. This rule is intended so that goods delivery activities do not disrupt the smooth flow of traffic during the MotoGP event.
Apart from vehicle restrictions, The government also prohibits all forms of social activities, adat, as well as the culture that uses the main road to the Mandalika SEZ during the MotoGP. These activities are considered to cause a buildup of vehicles which has the potential to trigger serious traffic jams.
“Melarang kegiatan sosial kemasyarakatan baik kegiatan adat maupun budaya masyarakat yang menggunakan ruas jalan utama menuju KEK Mandalika pada 27-29 September 2024,” ujar Faozal menambahkan. This prohibition is an effort to ensure that access to the circuit area remains smooth and is not disturbed by non-essential activities.
Enforcement of Rules for the Smooth Running of Events
With thousands of visitors predicted to come to watch the race live at the Mandalika Circuit, It is hoped that this restriction policy will reduce the potential for traffic jams that often occur at large events.
