Porsche storms the Los Angeles Auto Show 2021 this week with 718 Cayman GT4 RS, flagship performance of the lineup 718 and, most likely the current generation which may be Zuffenhausen's last ICE-powered mid-engined sports car. Enthusiasts have been waiting for the Porsche Cayman GT4 RS for several years and while we did not receive the RS in the first generation GT4, 718 The latest GT4 finally introduces a hardcore model that focuses on speed. The German automaker says the car simply needs 3,2 seconds to reach 62 mph (100 km / jam) and reach top speed 196 mph (315 km/hour).

Unlike the GT4 which is also available with a manual, The engine in the GT4 RS is exclusively mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission that has shorter gearing for the occasion. However, The driver can still change gears manually using the shift paddles or via the new shift knob mounted high on the center console. Additional 79 hp (59 kW / 80 PS) in combination with a tweaked gearbox and lower weight, have a real effect on performance results. The result, Cayman GT4 RS accelerates from 0-100 km/hour (0-62 mph) in 3,2 second, match time 911 GT3 and lost 0,5 seconds from the Cayman GT4. Top speed has also been increased to 196 mph (315 km/hour).

Throughout the video, Preuninger explains how the GT4 RS differs from the standard GT4 and how much different it is to drive than 911 GT3. He also described him as the younger brother of GT3. Porsche also spent a lot of time improving the GT4 RS's aerodynamics. Thus, it has large hind wings, carbon fiber hood with NACA ducts, adjustable front spoiler, larger rear diffuser, and air grilles above the front panel. The result, The GT4 RS produces downforce 25 percent more than the regular GT4. Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS 2022 is expected to be released in the US in the summer 2022.
