Approaching the Christmas and New Year holidays (Nataru), Corporate Communication and Community Development Group Head PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, Dwimawan Heru, predicts an increase in travel traffic or traffic on the company's toll roads. The predicted increase in traffic is quite significant, namely up to 30 percent.

Dwimawan also explained that currently there is daily traffic (LHR) on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road to Trans Java and the Purbaleunyi toll road can reach 90.00 vehicles on weekends or Saturdays and Sundays.

The LHR figure increased 20 percent from last October and November. This occurs in line with increasing community mobility with the reduction of PPKM regulations in various regions.

Astra Infra Toll Road Cipali as the manager of the Cipali Toll Road also predicts that traffic flow will increase 9,8% during Christmas and New Year (Nataru).

“Tidak adanya peraturan PPKM dan masa libur sekolah bergeser ke awal bulan Januari 2022, so that vehicle traffic is predicted to increase by 9,8 percent of normal traffic,” ujar Direktur Operasi Astras Tol Cipali, Agung Prasetyo.

Agung explained that the peak traffic flow will occur on 24 December and 31 December 2021. Meanwhile, the peak of reverse flow will occur at 26 December and 2 January 2022 with increasing amounts 9,8 percent or as much 56 vehicles passing through the Palimanan toll gate, if the total number of vehicles passing on the Cipali toll road reaches 76 thousand vehicles.

Jasa Marga advises road users to always drive safely and follow all applicable regulations for the sake of public order. One of them is the speed limit rules for driving on toll roads which must be obeyed. Every road user must follow these regulations in accordance with the traffic signs installed on each toll road section.

Dwimawan said this was in accordance with Government Regulation Number 79/2013 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation Networks in Article 23 sentence 4 that driving on toll roads in urban areas, minimum speed is 60 Km/Hr and maximum speed are 80 Km/Hour.

“Sedangkan untuk berkendara di jalan tol antarkota yakni minimal kecepatan 60 kilometers per hour and maximum speed 80 kilometer per jam,he said.

Besides that, Jasa Marga will also create a policy for opening and closing rest areas and services (TIP) or rest area if capacity is met.
