Otodiva – GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show performance (GIIAS) 2024 officially opened on 18 July 2024. Hyundai, as a major player in the automotive industry, presents various lines of vehicles as mobility solutions for the Indonesian people. With a strong commitment to developing the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia, Hyundai launched the all-new KONA Electric which is powered by locally produced batteries.

At the opening ceremony of GIIAS 2024 This, Prof. Dr. (H.C.) K.H. Ma’ruf Amin, Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, along with Dr. Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, Minister of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, visit the Hyundai booth located in the Hall 10, Indonesia Convention Centre, BSD. This visit highlights Hyundai's continued commitment to developing the electric vehicle ecosystem in the country.

While at the Hyundai booth, Ma'ruf Amin and Agus Gumiwang saw firsthand various Hyundai EV products, one of which is the all-new KONA Electric. Prof. Ma'ruf had the opportunity to experience the comfort of the all-new KONA Electric interior, Hyundai electric vehicles currently have the largest local components in Indonesia.

When sitting in the All New KONA Electric, Ma’ruf Amin, who is familiarly called Abah, laughed happily when Fransiscus Soerjopranoto, Chief Operating Officer Hyundai, explained that the front of the vehicle no longer contained a petrol engine, but it has been converted into a large storage room. This explanation was also witnessed by the Minister of Industry, Agus Gumiwang.

All-new KONA Electric, which was launched on 17 July 2024, uses batteries manufactured at HLI Green Power, Karawang. This launch emphasizes Hyundai's role as an automotive company with the most complete EV supply chain in Indonesia.
